Well, for those who don't know Pharaoh yet, I made this thread just to get people to know em a bit since they are still way too underground for my tastes. They are getting somewhat more famous since their third album but still, they deserve way more.

The band's line-up is:

Tim Aymar - Vocalist (Ex-Control Denied, Psycho Scream, Triple X, Vicious Cycle)
Matt Johnsen - Guitar (Fool's Game) ---> He's insane
Chris Kerns - Bass
Chris Black - Drums (Nachtmystium, Dawnbringer, Superchrist)

They have released 3 albums:

After The Fire - 2003
The Longest Night - 2006
Be Gone - 2008 (album of the year imo)

And here are several songs for your enjoyment:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bv0ZPlNVC64 Pharaoh - After The Fire

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9VGLD8KP ... re=related Pharaoh - By The Night Sky

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UuojxWhm ... re=related Pharaoh - Fighting

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iMRBCs6a ... re=related Pharaoh - Up The Gates

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N3DDeuhs ... re=related Pharaoh - No Remains

Well, I hope you guys like em and I think you will. Enjoy!!

I just listened to Telepath from be Gone. Cheers for the links.

Oh and the cover art for Be Gone is awesome! :headbang:

The name sounded interesting so I checked them out when I saw you mention them in the Power Metal thread.
Reminded a bit of Pyramaze, which is good.

Its good stuff, I recommend anyone who likes a good vocal performance (and more so if you're a Power Metal fan) check them out.

Pretty kool, and I don't like much power metal.

Well, I did mean that I recommended Pharaoh, but yes, Pyramaze is a great band worth checking out as well.

Pyramaze is great, I agree, but I've never really liked Matt's voice. Now, don't shoot me, I've never really disliked it either but it's just been a "meh" for me. Also, Iced Earth's time with The Ripper appeals to me way more than Matt's time. I don't know why but I've never been that amazed by Matt.

Matt was only on the latest album, they had another singer on the first 2 albums.
Lance King if I recall correctly.

And while I dont see how anyone could not love Matt Barlow's voice I can still respect the opinion as long as it aint a hate-rant.

Yeah, I meant Immortal, I quite liked Lance's albums but not as much as his performance on Balance of Power and Avian. Those were awesome.

I don't know, I acknowledge his skills, he has range, power, emotion and all that but his voice never appealed to me like it does to many people. I don't love it nor hate it, I just think it fits with the rest of the music (for Immortal) and nothing more.
